'Deo gratias', 'Chukwu Dalu', how is this said in your local dialect? I'm a million and one times (more than the stars in all the earth) grateful to God for bringing me this far.
In addition, I would love to say thank you to my family. To my parents- Felix Monye and Felicia Eziashi Monye (whose sacrifices from the 1990s still take my breath away), my sisters- Ifechukwude Monye Ogochukwu Monyeand Ngozi Monye (who are worth more than tens of brothers to me), my aunties, uncles and cousins whose prayers and jokes kept me going.
I came here totally clueless as to what it means to be an economist, but today I can boast of a handful of economic theories. I owe this knowledge to my wonderful lecturers. I would also love to thank my mentor in the research world, Dr. Tony Orji for instilling in me the quest for quality academic work.
Thanks also to all my friends who made my stay here memorable. ToBernard Chinonso for letting me go crazy every once or twice. ToChiamaka Symphoroser Mgbeme, S-star Ada Iduh, Patience Ezeogo,Chidinma Uka, Conrad Johnson-Omodiagbe, Chika Nwokoma Ozonze Chima Cally (Chimakodim n'isi), Felix Ceejay, Chidi Prince John, Egbo Chinedu Francis, Ozoemena Nonso Lydia Louise Ezeh Aneke Favour etc etc for all those moments filled with laughter (and more serious ones filled with worry). At some point, keeping close tabs with friends proved really hard and I became 'less close' to some people... It doesn't mean I love you any less.
I left this for so long because I wanted to make sure I acknowledge everyone, but truth is, I can't. The human mind tends to forget no matter how much we want to remember. So I want to say thanks to everyone I ever met here in school, especially those whose names I do not know and those who I only shared nods and weird smiles with.
